Summary:
Description: Get outside one last time before the snow flies and enjoy brilliant fall scenery in one of Colorado's most beautiful areas! Stretching out over two miles and providing beautiful vistas of the Collegiate Peaks, the Midland Hill Trail is one of the most popular trails in Arkansas River Valley. Due to its proximity to the town of Buena Vista, the route has become a staple in many running and hiking regimens. However the Midland Hill Trail sees as much water runoff as it does runner and hiker traffic. Rain storms tend to come fast and hard in the valley and cause severe erosion on the area's natural surface trails. Volunteers will repair trail drains, construct rock retaining walls, and install new rock steps in order to provide a safe and sustainable route for trail users on this popular trail.
