Join us as VOC helps to complete the Continental Divide (CDT) and Colorado Trails (CT). The Half Moon Creek Trail (also known as North Elbert Trail) is part of a 60-mile relocation of both trails between Mt. Elbert and Monarch Pass. The existing trail is annually utilized by over 7000 people, including many through-hikers on the CT and CDT, as well as climbers accessing the north summit route to of Mt. Elbert. As a result of heavy use and poor routing, the trail is heavily eroded, rutted and braided. The Half Moon Creek will include high altitude trail construction; switchback construction (rock hounds take note); trail reclamation and re-vegetation.
