Summary: Join VOC and Friends of the Dillon Ranger District in Breckenridge
Description: The 8-mile l Peaks Trail connecting Frisco and Breckenridge is one of Colorado's most popular hiking and biking trails. It features scenic views of the Ten-Mile Range, Williams Fork Mountains and the Dillon Valley as it makes its way down the Blue River drainage.
Due to its heavy use and abundant spring runoff, parts of the trail remain bogged down and marshy from spring to early fall. Hikers and bikers attempting to avoid muddy areas have created new "social" trails which encroach on surrounding wildlife habitat.
Volunteers on this project will have a chance to exercise their healing skills and learn new construction techniques as we build drainage dips, close and rehabilitate braided trail, reroute and revegetate unsustainable trail sections, and make structure repairs.
