Summary: Help construct the Box o Rox trail on Green Mountain in Lakewood.
Description: Help VOC work on the Box o Rox on Green Mountain, a City of Lakewood park. 150 Vail Resort employees have agreed to lend a hand on this project. VOC will need certified crew leaders to help lead Vail volunteers in a successful project.
Lakewood's William Frederick Hayden Park covers approximately 2400 acres of open space. The park's center piece, Green Mountain, provides views of the Denver skyline, Red Rocks Park, and three fourteen thousand foot peaks. Hayden provides a unique venue in an urban setting for many recreational opportunities, including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and paragliding. Park managers estimate that a quarter million visitors a year use Green Mountain's trails.
