Summary: Mount Yale Trail Restoration Stewardship Adventure
Description: Join Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado this summer and enjoy an amazing commute to work on Mount Yale. The thousands of visitors who hike its slopes every year have taken a heavy toll on this popular peak. VOC will be working with the Colorado 14ers Initiative above treeline at nearly 11,500 feet to restore and reroute the trail to the summit.
As a designated national wilderness area, strict group size limits allow VOC to register only 12 volunteers on this special project. You will be camping in a designated back country base camp and treated to energizing meals. Volunteers can expect to be working at high altitude to build rock structures, reroute sections of damaged trail, and complete alpine restoration on the fragile alpine landscape. This 4-day Stewardship Adventure is a great way to make a difference in Colorado this summer and enjoy a spectacular backcountry setting with great people! There is a $40 registration fee for this one-of-a-kind opportunity.
