Summary: Ruby Jewell Trail Restoration Stewardship Adventure
Description: Up for some up close (and hopefully not too personal) moose viewing? Join us for a week-long volunteer adventure at Colorado's moose viewing capital, State Forest State Park near Walden, Colorado. A long-held secret recreation spot for locals, word of this State Park's beautiful and extraordinary recreational opportunities has gotten around! The Park's trails, which once hosted a handful of users each year, now see a steady stream of adventurous hikers from throughout the state.
During this six-day getaway into Colorado's North Park region, volunteers will restore the Ruby Jewel Trail, one of the many trails in the park established long before the area was a designated park and without the kind of construction that curtails erosion from overuse. The trail winds through incredible moose and elk habitat. Camp and work together for all six days or choose a smaller portion of time that fits your schedule. Either way, you'll make a huge difference! For those adventurous enough for the full six days, along with the satisfaction of making an incredible stewardship contribution, you'll also receive a one-year Colorado State Parks entrance pass.
There is a $10 per day registration fee for this opportunity.
