Summary: Trail Construction at Vega State Park
Description: Vega State Park is located at the base of the Grand Mesa, the largest flattop mountain in the United States. At 8,200 feet, Vega boasts a variety of wildlife, views, and recreational opportunities. Hikers enjoy a single trail through the meadows on the south side of Vega Reservoir (Vega is the Spanish word for meadow). Come spend a rewarding weekend constructing 1.5 miles of new trail on the north side of the reservoir. Your work will help relieve recreational pressure from the existing trail, preserving nearby natural resources and providing visitors with new opportunities to experience nature.
There will be an evening performance by local favorites, the Salt Creek Band, a bluegrass band.
