Summary: Help clean-up public lands in the desert north of Grand Junction
Description: Celebrate National Public Lands Day with the BLM as we join with public land users for a clean-up of this popular public land playground. It's where many of us go to ride motorcycles and ATVs, shoot guns, hike, bike, and walk our dogs. It's also where some less responsible public lands users leave behind their trash. We'll try to clean up some of the messes, and hopefully become more aware of how to reduce the amount of trash left behind in the future. We'll spread out to several locations throughout the desert, then consolidate the trash in several large dumpsters. Some volunteers will focus on the 27 ? Road shooting ranges, where they may also take care of some facility and sign maintenance needs. Following the trash clean-up and sign installation projects there will be a firearms sight-in event where several experienced shooting volunteers will assist hunters wishing to sight-in their firearms for the upcoming hunting season.
Volunteers will receive a free National Public Lands Day T-shirt.
