Summary: Clean up slash at one of the most popular campgrounds on the Rio Grande National Forest.
Description:
The Big Meadows Campground was heavily effected by the spruce beetle, creating a huge number of standing dead and hazard trees. The campground was clear cut resulting in copious amounts of slash all over the camp ground. Western Mountain Youth Services helped collect, load, and unload the material and cleaned up some of the area.
