Start Date-End Date: 03/17/2012-03/17/2012 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: This month we are going to be meeting with our End-of-the-Year Project Partner, the Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership. Today will provide you the opportunity to become familiar with the project site, the partnering organization we will be working with, the staging of where registration, lunch, tools, etc. will be, and much, much more. Picture your project going on while you are there. Be sure to ask questions and for clarifications. We will be going over the tools required, the scope of the project, how to build a xeriscape garden, and the logistics of the day. Lots of things to think about! Half the day will be dedicated to getting comfortable with the area of which you will be hosting 100 of your friends and family at. The other part of the day will be held at the VOC office. Matt Martinez, Senior Project Manager at VOC, will be giving you a quick version of the VOC/OSI Crew Leader Training. OSI stands for "Outdoor Stewardship Institute" - a branch of VOC that offers trainings for Crew Chefs, Stewardship Advisors, Working with Youth, Crew Leaders, Technical Advisors and many others. A few of your Cairn-mates have participated in the Stewardship Advisor Training, which allows them to come on VOC projects and provide the educational component for the day. I encourage you to sign up for any and all OSI trainings, as it provides great resume support and leadership training.
