Start Date-End Date: 09/17/2012-09/17/2012 Land Manager Office: CPW - Chatfield State Park Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: 60 middle school students and teachers will be doing a weed warrior project on Monday, September 17th from 9-1 near the swim beach at Chatfield State Park. The students will receive an educational component prior to the start of the project to go over the 4 invasive species we are targeting for the day: Diffuse Knapweed, Mullein, Toadflax, and Thistle. These youth volunteers, worked very hard to dispose of dalmatian toadflax, diffuse knapweed, thistle, and mullein. They counted over 100 trash bags worth of weeds by the end of the day! Their work will help support native species in the park – both plants and animals.
