The 100-acre park is home to coyotes, beaver and the occasional herring. VOLUNTEER PROJECT - WHAT & WHY Join VOC and Colorado Native for an afternoon at Denver's Bear Creek Park. Volunteers will be participating in a handful of habitat restoration activities including seed collection, trail closure, trail restoration and invasive weed removal. Volunteers planted 146 trees and shrubs, painted and protected 35 mature cottonwoods, spread 20 cubic yards of crusher fine over 250 ft of trail, and removed 5 bags of weeds.
