Summary: Lend a hand to the restoration of this historic fort.
Description:
This summer the HistoriCorps team will replaster the exterior of one building and repair and repair deteriorated window frames. Work includes: Replastering the administration/gift shop building with a traditional mud-based plaster. Scraping and repainting window and door frames on the commandants quarters and office
The project will be managed and supervised by two HistoriCorps instructors and will be designed to optimize learning opportunities. The construction team will include between eight and twelve members. Previous construction experience not required. Tools, safety equipment, and meals will be provided by HistoriCorps but transportation to and from the project is the responsibility of the participant. All crew members must be physically fit and be willing to work long days in variable weather.

Volunteers can choose to sleep in the infantry barracks on cots or can set up tents behind the fort. Full bathroom facilities, including showers, are onsite. Meals will be cooked in a commercial kitchen also located onsite.
