Summary: Bring your trail skills and your fly rod for this rewarding weekend of trail construction at beautiful Sylvan Lake State Park.
Description:
STEWARDSHIP SITE
Recognized by many as Colorado's most beautiful state park, Sylvan Lake State Park provides a scenic getaway to the White River National Forest, unlimited panoramic vistas and some of Colorado's best trout fishing! Located at an elevation of 8,500 feet, Sylvan Lake is a haven for anglers, campers, bikers and hikers.
VOLUNTEER PROJECT - WHAT & WHY
Bring your trail skills and your fly rod for this rewarding weekend of trail construction! We'll be constructing 3/4 mile of new trail to connect the park's Visitor Center to the 42-acre Sylvan Lake itself. Once completed, this new trail will be a perfect family-friendly pedestrian and equestrian route for park visitors who seek an alternative to steeper, more intense hiking trails. Stream crossings, bridge construction and interesting route sections make this basic trail project a real challenge!
