Summary: Today, our group is wrapping up our final project of the 2012-2013 Cairn Program with our Final Project at Cherry Creek State Park. The purpose of this project is to have YOU lead your friends and family in a stewardship project of your own. Last month should have topped off your training and expertise in stewardship, leadership, environmental education, and outdoor recreation.
During this project, you will be fulfilling the team roles you selected at the Ugly Sweater Party back in December and hopefully inspiring others to get involved in volunteering, stewardship, and getting outdoors beyond just this day! You should know exactly what to do, after going through the Outdoor Stewardship Institute's Crew Leader Training and participating on the site visit last month. We will be harvesting and planting willows per the instructions of Cherry Creek State Park Staff?just as you learned in March!

Special Notes:
Stewardship Education:
Cairn was to do the education component in the morning...not sure if it really happened...
Key Concerns or Comments from Staff or Volunteers:
None!
Description of Accidents/Incidents:
None. - One parents suggested safety goggles, though we haven't traditionally used them on these projects before. I suppose when there is youth around, that parents want slightly excessive safety precautions to be taken.
Description of Work Completed:
Trimmed and transplanted approximately 400 willows around Muskrat Pond. Students led the project from the introduction, crew leader safety talk, crew leadership throughout the morning, and preparing lunch.
Students were required to bring a "+1" to the event; this was a great way to recruit for next year...
