Fruit harvested will be donated to local charities through VOC's partnership with Yard Harvest, another local non-profit organization! Description: Harvesting locations will take place in the Denver Metro area communities which hold a variety of fruit trees.Volunteers will have the opportunity to see community involvement up close and witness the donors of the fruit's homes, demonstrating the ease of harvest and delivery, keeping fresh, healthy produce from going to waste and getting it to people in need. Most of the fruit that is ready to eat will be delivered to Project Homeless Connect. The fruit that is bruised but still safe and healthy will be delivered to other charities--such as Project Angel Heart, Denver Rescue Mission, and others--that have the ability to bake, can, make sauces or otherwise prepare and preserve it.
