Start Date-End Date: 06/01/2013-09/30/2013 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: Provide facility maintenance and visitor services at three remote USFS campgrounds. Description: Duties: Greet visitors and assist campers with registration and inform them of rules, regulations, and other pertinent information about the area. Ensure fee envelopes are available at all times and signs are posted and clear. Report problems, violations, or hazards to Forest Service staff in a timely manner. Daily cleaning and maintenance to include cleaning vault toilets, stocking with toilet paper, raking campsites, removing ashes and trash from fire rings, and minor litter pick-up throughout the campground. Other duties may include staining or painting, cutting back brush, mowing, and assisting Forest Service personnel with larger projects. The selected host will be responsible for Deep Lake Campground, Deep Lake Fishing Area, White Owl Lake Campground, and Coffee Pot Springs Campground. Requirements: Host must enjoy meeting and talking with people, be friendly and helpful to all campground visitors, and communicate effectively with Forest Service staff. Host must be in good physical health and able to work and live in a relatively remote location. A host couple is preferred due to the location and the amount of area to maintain. Host must present a neat, professional appearance and wear volunteer uniform components as provided by the Forest Service which may include a vest, button down shirt, hat, and nametag. Host must be available on site 5 days per week including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Benefits: Necessary tools and equipment, gloves, and cleaning supplies will be provided. On-the-job training and other required training will be provided. A non-paved campsite with fire ring and picnic table at Deep Lake Campground or Coffee Pot Campground will be available. Forest Service personnel may support hosts with water, propane, trash collection, and sewage disposal. Subsistence and/or incidental expenses, provided amenities, and schedule are negotiable.
