Description of Work Completed:
Twenty 7th and 8th Grade Students from Kent Denver spent the afternoon at Chatfield State Park learning about Colorado’s invasive species and the importance of removing noxious weeds from natural areas. The students clipped and bagged over 24 acres of mullein at the park in a few hours time. This is the third time this particular group from Kent Denver has worked with VOC on stewardship projects – their first two projects with VOC were an urban gardening project and site maintenance at the Stapleton Urban Farm.
