Key Concerns or Comments from Staff or Volunteers:
I did receive, via constant contact, feedback from one individual that we should have canceled the project due to calls for flash flooding in lower elevations surrounding the project site. This individual did attend the project and commented that they had fun but felt like we were very lucky.
Description of Accidents/Incidents:
Description of Work Completed:
Originally scheduled for June 22nd this project was rescheduled to take place in September. The date in September was almost canceled leading due to historic rainfall and flooding. A conversation took place about canceling the project due to concerns about safety but the land manager felt like a) the soils would be conducive to the type of work we were scheduled to do and b) the area had not received the record moisture surrounding areas were experiencing and forecasts were favorable for the project day.
The project ended up being very productive, except for some early morning heavy showers the day ended up being dry with sporadic sunshine. Openheimer Funds really saved the day by bringing a group of 12 volutneers. The group enjoyed the work and seemed upbeat throughout the project. Work wrapped up just after lunch.
