Summary: Come help expand recreational access in the Avon/Edwards area.
Description:
STEWARDSHIP SITE
The Avon/Edwards trail system is integral in helping locals get outdoors, directly connecting multiple neighborhoods and towns to unspoiled Colorado wilderness. In addition, due to its proximity to the Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts, it also sees its fair share of visitor foot-traffic.
VOLUNTEER PROJECT - WHAT & WHY
Despite connecting to a number of towns and neighborhoods, the trail system can be expanded to accommodate other local neighborhoods and further expand access to this beautiful area. The proposed trail, open to both hikers and bikers, will offer great views of New York Mountain and will link three communities together. Volunteers will be constructing a spur off of an existing trail in order to connect the Wildridge community to the trail system.
