Summary: This month we are partnering with the Urban Farm. The Urban Farm is a non-profit organization that helps improve the lives of high risk children living in urban neighborhoods. They achieve this by providing exposure and opportunities (horsemanship, land management, gardening, etc.) to under-privileged children. We will be asked to do a number of tasks from feeding the animals to helping clean stables and/or anything in-between. We will get dirty and the day will be rewarding! As a non-profit the Urban Farm relies on groups like ours to help maintain the positive programs they provide..

The Cairn students worked a half day project at The Urban Farm near Denver's Stapleton neighborhood. Tasks included de-icing animal water troughs by simply breaking up the ice and re-filling with fresh water, and installing new fencing in some of the animal pens. The students de-iced 30 troughs and installed roughly 40 ft of new fencing.
