Summary: This month we are partnering with the Poudre Learning Center in Greeley. The Poudre Learning Center is a resource for Northern Colorado's outdoor learning experience. With over 22 miles of trails along the Poudre River, National Heritage and Native sites, and acres of habitat, the Poudre Learning Center is a vital element in Northeastern Colorado preservation efforts. The floods in the fall of 2013 hit the Poudre Learning Center hard, and they are continuing to clean up. We will be helping to restore the riverbanks, trails and natural areas, which provide many students a unique outdoor classroom.

Description of Work Completed:
On January 11, 25 students and six mentors traveled to the Poudre Learning Center for a day of stewardship and flood restoration. The students cleared debris from fence-ways, removed cold, frozen clay from the soil sampling pit, built and mulched two eagle nest viewing areas and constructed fifteen mini fence barriers to protect some of the sensitive area. It was a fun and muddy day! Thanks to the Poudre Learning Center for hosting the January Cairn Project!
