Special Notes:
Stewardship Education: Parks staff was great in helping to explain the need and purpose of the work we did. We also took an hour in the morning to do ice-breakers and name-games, which I felt was valuable.
Key Concerns or Comments from Staff or Volunteers: A great start to the year!
Description of Accidents/Incidents: Just a few scrapes and scratches
Description of Work Completed: 24 of our 30 students, along with 7 Cairn Mentors protected approximately 35 old growth Cottonwoods from Beaver damage via painting or wire wrapping, pruned and delineated 300 ft of boardwalk through a sensitive wetland area, and closed and restored 600 ft of undesignated trail using fencing and 300 willow transplants.
