Description of Accidents/Incidents:
High winds and storms made the project challenging but we able to complete all of the work the BLM lined out and had a good volunteer turn out both days.
Description of Work Completed:
On the weekend of April 26th and 27th 60 volunteers worked to restore and close social trails in the McInnis Canyon National Conservation Area. These trails were caused by hikers and equestrian rides going off trail and creating new unsustainable trails. Over the course of the weekend volunteers closed and restored 2000ft of social trails through a variety of techniques. Volunteers planted seed, closed both ends of the trails through piling brush and rock, transplanted native plants, and installed water bars to mitigate for erosion.
