Description:
STEWARDSHIP SITE
Tanglewood Trail is a heavily used trail in the southern part of the Mount Evans Wilderness. Of Colorado's Fourteeners, Mount Evans (14,264') is not only one of the most accessible but also one of the highest. The Tanglewood Trail is well used by many eager to enjoy a lakeside picnic, an afternoon fishing jaunt, or an overnight alpine camping trip.
VOLUNTEER PROJECT - WHAT & WHY
Tanglewood Trail's increasing popularity requires ongoing maintenance and VOC has committed to adopting this trail each summer. Be a part of an ongoing small group of dedicated volunteers and sign up for one or all five 2014 dates. This summer we'll focus on rehabilitating a two mile section of severely eroded trail starting at the trailhead. Volunteers will put in steps and water bars as needed, and will also clean out existing water bars. Access to the work site will require a 1-2 mile hike.
