Summary: 14 Colorado College Students spent 2 days working on the Cottonwood Trail in Salida, removing berm, outsloping, backslopping, and rehabbing the area under the "too-wide" trail.
Description: VOC coordinated this project on the Salida Ranger District, the first time working with Colorado College (Colorado Springs based) students in the area. USFS seasonals and trail staff were on-site both days to oversee the work and teach the students how to do trail maintenance. Great feedback from both CC and USFS. USFS enjoyed working with a younger demographic, and good sized group. Will likely work to see if future partnerships/service projectswith CC are available.
