Latitude/Longitude: 40.167913, -104.983428 Additional Information: Camping Available: No Physical Difficulty: Easy High Altitude Project: No Desired Number of Volunteers: 10 Total Adult Volunteers Attended: 1 Total Youth Volunteers Attended: 8 Total Volunteer Days: 9 Total Unique Volunteers: 9 Total Volunteer Hours: 54 Staff Hours: 13 Stipend Hours: 0 Project Summary: The Boys and Girls Club of Weld County came back to St Vrain to clear a trail corridor around one of the ponds. The group was spit into two teams to clear overgrown sweet clover along the sides of the path, and to remove thistle where it was present.Clover was cut back two feet from the tread of the trail Successes and Challenges: The teams were able to clear the thickest sections and majority of the circumfrence of the lake. The groups were competitive again, although the number of volunteers was lower than the first project. Muggy weather was abit of a strain, but the group stayed strong and got the work done. Lessons Learned: Competition again motivated the groups, but this time they took it on themselves! The groups worked harder to try and prove they were the hardest workers and could get the most done.
