Description: ABOUT THE STEWARDSHIP SITE Not to be overlooked due to its proximity to Washington Park and Platte Park, the spacious Harvard Gulch Park boasts meandering walkways and rolling hills that cut through a lush landscape. The park offers plenty of open space for running, volleyball, and various other recreational opportunities. It's namesake creek cuts through the park's south end. ABOUT THE VOLUNTEER WORK Volunteers of all ages will gather to perform one final harvest before putting the new gardens to rest for winter. This project, in partnership with Grow Local Colorado, is one of several where we will be wrapping up the gardening season at vegetable gardens that were planted in the spring. The flavorful, nutritious fare harvested from this project will be donated to organizations that help individuals in need. Volunteer work will be fun, easy, and child-friendly.Tasks will involve harvesting, weeding, and raking the soil. Free dinner will be provided. The volunteers removed everything from the 1,050 square foot bed, and were able to harvest 186 lbs of veggies, which made the season long total 1,006 lbs of fresh produce supplied to local food pantries!
