Description: ABOUT THE STEWARDSHIP SITE
Urban Peak is an organization that helps homeless and at-risk youth overcome real life challenges by providing essential services and a safe community, empowering them to become self-sufficient adults.
ABOUT THE VOLUNTEER PROJECT
Volunteers of all ages will perform one final harvest before putting the new gardens to rest for winter. This project, in partnership with Grow Local Colorado, is one of several where we will be wrapping up the gardening season at vegetable gardens that were planted in the spring. The produce harvested from this project will be donated to organizations that help individuals in need. Volunteer work will be fun, easy, and child-friendly.Tasks will involve harvesting, weeding, and raking the soil.
Free dinner will be provided.

Project Summary: On the evening of Thursday, Oct. 8th, 12 volunteers came to Urban Peak to harvest the vegetable garden there. The volunteers harvested 22 lbs of fresh veggies that will go right into the teen homeless shelter at Urban Peak. It took volunteers only an hour, and they enjoyed Chipotle afterwards.
