Latitude/Longitude: 39.758513, -104.857164 Additional Information: Camping Available: No Physical Difficulty: Easy High Altitude Project: No Desired Number of Volunteers: 50 Total Adult Volunteers Attended: 7 Total Youth Volunteers Attended: 47 Total Volunteer Days: 54 Total Unique Volunteers: 54 Total Volunteer Hours: 189 Staff Hours: 6 Stipend Hours: 0 Project Summary: On the hot afternoon of Wednesday, October 18th, 47 fifth grade students from Stanley British Primary School came to Bluff Lake Nature Center to learn about outdoor stewardship, help out, and do some bonding games. The students watered 2 acres of trees using water from the creek, and removed 3 acres of trash. VOC staff and Bluff Lake Nature Center staff talked about stewardship needs facing our state, why Bluff Lake exists, and why they were helping out. The kids played a few games to get to know one another better. Successes and Challenges: Challenges-- the space that we were working in was tight, and we had trouble fitting all the kids in.
