Description: CLICK HERE TO REGISTER: http://bit.ly/1GJlAj7 ABOUT THE STEWARDSHIP SITE The Timberline Lake Trail makes for an extremely popular day hike in the Holy Cross Wilderness, which featuresan abundance of rugged peaks, scenic alpine cirques, bowls and lakes - including the beautiful Turquoise Lake. This area draws outdoor enthusiasts year-round to hike, fish, cross-country ski, and ice fish. ABOUT THE VOLUNTEER WORK Estimates of 2,000+ hikers annually travel on the Timberline Lake Trail, just off the west end of Turquoise Lake. As such, trail maintenance is highly needed to preserve the quality of experience the trail provides and minimize safety risks for users. On the project, volunteers will construct a turnpike, new footbridge and stepping stone stream crossing, as well as repair and re-contour the trail.The newly maintained trail will ensure a positive wilderness experience for all future visitors to this special place.
