All mentors and VOC staff brought in a potluck breakfast item as a "thank you" to all the students for their hard work so far this season. It worked out really well, and the students really enjoyed that aspect. Everyone wore "ugly holiday" gear, and the students got really into it with some homemade designs. There was a grand prize for best costume of an LL Bean backpack, and Nokero lights were given out for second place. The students voted to have their final project at Green Mountain in Lakewood to help with fire restoration in the recently burned area. We broke up into planning teams after that with mentors. There were some really great conversations happening, and the students all talked about how to get more young people involved in stewardship. Successes and Challenges: Potluck breakfast worked really well! Perfect amount of food with 10 people providing for the larger group of 40. We had 3 egg bakes, and some sides like donuts, fruit and bacon. Lessons Learned: Potluck works well & saves us a little money! Special Notes: Stewardship Education: Key Concerns or Comments from Staff or Volunteers: Description of Accidents/Incidents: Description of Work Completed:
