We worked with Denver Parks and Rec to put the flower beds to bed. The kids ripped out all the flowers, and raked and turned the soil. We played a few educational games, and a long game of "where the wind blows," which the kids really liked. Then we walked over to the water's edge and skipped rocks for awhile. Successes and Challenges: The number were much lower than we wanted them to be. Caitlyn is out on maternity leave, so it's hard not having her there to coordinate, and a lot of the kids parents didn't want to sign the waiver because it wasn't in Spanish. Lessons Learned: We need to get our waiver translated. We also need to talk with Caitlyn about the numbers moving forward.
