Description: Spending a little time in the fall to winterize tools has big payoffs in the spring! To ensure our tools are in great shape for the start of next season, fifty volunteers are needed to clean, sharpen, paint, and repair tools, as well as clean and organize the VOC Operations Center. As with previous Octoolberfest sessions, the event will also include a fun potluck to ensure that everyone maintains their energy levels! Volunteers with last names starting with A - H, please bring an appetizer. Volunteers with last names starting with I - O, please bring an entrees. Everyone else, please bring a dessert. The group spent a hald day sharpening, polishing, painting and cleaning every inch of the facility and tools. Their efforts will help set the stage for a succesful start to the 2017 project season! Octoolberfest 2016 also hosted are first ever VOC Crew Chef cook off, with seven of our Crew Chefs putting in entries. Each received a brand new VOC Apron for participating and Tim Zvada took home top bragging rights with his dutch oven mexican lasagna. Successes and Challenges: Too many people, not enough work. Lessons Learned: Cut numbers by 15 in 2017 to account for about this many people who will just show up.
