Project Summary: On Earth Day, April 22nd, 25 kindergartners from Steele Elementary School walked over to the Big Garden in Wash Park to help plant flower beds. We talked about ways to care for the park, and to care for nature. The kindergartners had a great time planting, although I had to re-plant about half of the flowers after they left because they were either too close together, or not deep enough. Great to get youngsters exposed to stewardship work though!
Successes and Challenges: They are kindergartners. Easy work needed!
Lessons Learned: Bring snacks!
