They arrived at the park and immediately had lunch and played a few name games. Then VOC did a short talk as did CPW, and we got to work! They worked for about 1.5 hours, and then ended with a compliment circle. Successes and Challenges: Successes: Making the weeding a friendly team competition was successful. Team that filled the most trash bags of mullein got an additional prize to the stickers that were handed out to everyone. Most of the groups didn't want to end when it was time to go. Lessons implemented from last year: make sure children know they might encounter wildlife and some thing to look out for. i.e. more than one wasp flying in a certain area- avoid. Challenge: The location of this year's field we are weeding, is not great for easy access to bathrooms and lunching space. Weather presented a challenge and we lunched inside. Lessons Learned: Special Notes: Stewardship Education: VOC and CPW Staff Key Concerns or Comments from Staff or Volunteers: Allergy Season and other pokey plants. Have a good supply of bandaids, primarily for emotional reasurance, not because the "cut", "poke" or "injury" actually require them. Description of Accidents/Incidents: Description of Work Completed:
