Project Summary: For the December Cairn project, our Cairn students gathered at the VOC office for a holiday celebration, and to vote on their final project in April. All mentors and VOC staff brought in a potluck breakfast item as a "thank you" to all the students for their hard work so far this season. It worked out really well, and the students really enjoyed that aspect. Everyone wore "ugly holiday" gear, and the students got really into it with some homemade designs. There was a grand prize for best costume of an VOC hat and a silly holiday light necklace The students voted to have their final project at Jackson Lake State Park to help with ecological restoration. We broke up into planning teams after that with mentors. There were some really great conversations happening, and the students all talked about how to get this project up and running.
