After a little encouragement, the youth became very focused in getting the 600 square foot garden done, and said they enjoyed seeing it go from a pile of dirt to something so pretty. They planted a variety of veggies including (but not limited to) basil, kale, collards, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and carrots, that will all be donated to a nearby food pantry. This garden is estimated to produce close to 450lbs of food this season. After the work was complete, Chipotle donated delicious burritos for dinner! This group is planning to come out for the harvest so they can see the full circle of a garden.
