On September 27 I conducted a classroom session to teach the kids about citizen science, phenology, how it tracks climate changes and how to do actual data collection on various plants. September 26 was a field day. I helped the kids do field data collection on a variety of trees, shrubs, forbs and grasses. This data goes into the database used by the RGNF for monitoring data on climate variability: The National Phenology Network.
