Project Summary: 22 youth convened on their neighborhood park to help give back to their public spaces. The original plan was for students to mulch trees, but the park maintenance staff changed the project to trash pick-up and clearing the duff from below all of the park's coniferous trees.
The students worked hard to clear 52 trees of duff, filling up three DPR staff dump-trucks worth of compostable material and filled 4 large trash bags with trash.
The students expressed enjoying giving back to a park that a lot of them spent ample time at.
