Project Summary: 9 volunteers from Owen's (Westwood) Boys and Girls Club came to spend their afternoon maintaining the garden plots at Civic Center Park. They got to learn about the importance of these donation gardens, and even try a few of the ripe veggies. Weeding and maintaining these two plots is incredibly important as they remain Grow Local's most visible gardens and DPR is particular about how they look to the public eye. The students were treated to chipotle burritos for their hard work and enjoyed giving the three extra burritos and cliff bars out to people around the park who looked like they might appreciate them.
