As "B" sawyers, these volunteers are qualified to lead crosscut crews and serve a critical need as there are many fallen trees on trails in Wilderness areas, which can only be removed with crosscut saws. 7/11: One certificated B Sawyer and one assistant volunteer removed a large blowdown just inside the Lost Creek Wilderness boundary about 1.5 miles from the trailhead on the Ben Tyler Trail. It was hot, hard work, but a successful day. The tree was large enough that hikers had difficulty climbing over it and had created a social trail around it to the downhill side which was blocked off.
