Project Summary: Overall, the project went great! We had four crews that were able to get everything done plus some. Majority of the work was decreasing the width of the trail. There were many first timers who seemed to love the work and enthusiastic to get involved again. We ended early to hike to the top as a group and joy the view.
Successes and Challenges: Challenges- Attrition was pretty big for this project. Additionally, we were short on tools since other projects went out that weekend. It would be nice to have multiple boxes of safety glasses at ops.
Successes- Parking and the amount of crew leaders ended up being great because of the attrition. For future reference, parking would be really tight without people doing significant carpooling for 40+ people.
Lessons Learned: People were thrilled to see the view at the top and it created a great community experience for volunteers.
