Project Summary: Overall, this project went great. We had two crews each working in different sections. The upper crew was located right before the falls and focused on designating the established trails with rock and wall perimeters. The lower crew focused on closing off a large social trail area, and rerouting the trail. The were able reconstruct a drainage system and reroute the trail about 50 feet. Both crews had a blast and seemed to be a good mix of new and seasoned volunteers.
Successes and Challenges: Many successes, including great conversations, huge areas closed off, and a whole drainage reroute. The biggest challenge was the heat. We ended about an hour early due to people being exhausted.
Lessons Learned: Need hard hats in National Forest
